| Yasushi Inoue (1907-1991) is an accomplished modern Japanese novelist, poet,critic, and social activist. The second World War is a turning point for Yasushi Inoue’s literary road, by virtue of the Bull and many other novels,he won more than10literary and literature awards including cultural merit and had nominated by the Nobel Prize for one time, for all of these merits and achievements, he is known as Award-winning writer. Yasushi Inoue is not only international fame as a writer in Japan, but a social activist who has devoted his life to the Sino-Japanese cultural transmission. During Yasushi Inoue’s lifetime, literary speaking and culture communication have been evolving in parallel, exploring and analysing the literary value and cultural connotation of Inoue Yasushi’s historical novel from the exterior to the interior,from tradition to modernization with a crosscultural perspective, will help us evaluate the novel Wolf and Yasushi Inoue’s literary practice more comprehensively and objectively.Introduction section of this article introduces Yasushi Inoue’s life, creative types, Awards, analysis and combine the research and translation status of Yasushi Inoue literature inChina and foreign countries, particularly focus on the novel Wolf and the related research and literature discussion. Among Yasushi Inoue’s rich variety of creation, novel writing can be seen as the key to the achievement of his literary career, the novel Wolf and Confucius, Concubine Yang have been ranked as trilogy Yasushi Inoue’s Chinese theme historical fictions, the novel Wolf has got a good market response after been published in early days, but also caused "Wolf Controversy" concerning historical novel writing. In fact, the "Wolf" and this literary debate reflect Yasushi Inoue’s Special cultural mentality when he faced the reality of defeat and,the Sino-Japanese cultural traditions, as well as attempts he has made to innovate Japanese historical novel writing tradition.On the other hand, scholars in Japan and Chinese have been paying too much attentions to literary controversy triggered by the Wolf to some extent, but ignored the literary features of the novel itself and cultural values, The Mongolian "wolf Totem "cultural characteristics presented in the novel is isolating especially. Therefore,this paper will Interpret the themes of"becoming a wolf"from the Mongolian "wolf Totem "cultural tradition, in order to explore certain cultural trait of China and Japan, and its revelation of the Sino-Japanese cultural exchange.This article is divided into three chapters:The first chapter analyzes the traditional cultural connotation of the "Wolf Totem" of Mongolian. Yasushi Inoue reproduce the culture of the Mongolian "Wolf Totem"in wolf. According to the Ethnic origin myths "Grey wolf and white deer bear Mongols", Mongolian gradually formed their wolf totemism as the core,actually Genghis Khan eagers to become a wolf is in pursuit of totem ties of consanguinity identity. Based on these two points, this article sort out the female and male images closely related to the mystery of Genghis Khan was born, from a macro contemplation of the Wolf family under the wolf totem system.The second chapter interpret the modern cultural connotation of the novel from the subjugating desire of Wolf family. This paper argues that the subjugating desire shown in this novel is the modenl reconstitution of historical figures which Yasushi Inoue has made, and the key to explore the modern culture connotation of this novel. Within the subjugating desire of Wolf family represented by Genghis Khan,there are several modern characterizations, which means it combines three kinds of humanity’s basic desire:lust of power, eroticism, offensiveness, there are three three generation phases including occurrence and development.With the characterization of the subjugating desire of Wolf family in different generation phases and the depression and nihility of Genghis Khan, Yasushi Inoue politely express deep sorrow of losing people.The third chapter analyzes Yasushi Inoue’s motivation of describing the subjugating desire of Wolf family.On the one hand, it is the result of symbiosis of his literary creation and cultural exchange practices.The life expriences in and after war time add the real depth of introspecting war to Yasushi Inoue’s postwar novels, profoud sinology accomplishment and western obsession make him express Chinese West Region time and again.On the other hand, it is also the result of the historical event called "Mongolia strikes "in Japan and the national characterof Yamato which is absorbing foreign culture to regurgitate native culture, the whole Yamato passess kind of dual psychology to mighty Mongolia culture,that is terrified and worship. This article points out that, we can catch the writer’s implicied meaning of rethinking war and Japan’s national character behind his motivating of exploring the subjugating desire of Wolf family.
