The October Revolution in Russia is believed to be a socialist revolution for a long time, but people do not pay much attention to its democratic revolutionary nature. Lenin made it clear in his "The Fourth Anniversary of the October Revolution", in with he said,"direct and the urgent task of the Russian revolution, was the task of the bourgeois democracy". So, how to understand its democratic revolutionary nature of the October Revolution? Although Russia established the first in the world state power led by the proletariat, but because of the February revolution did not completely finished the historic*tasks that bourgeois democratic revolution must be solved and Russian did not gone through the typical stages of the development of capitalism, therefore, the first urgent tasks the new Soviet regime faced after the October Revolution were to continue to fulfill democratic revolution. Lenin clearly pointed out in the form of putting up a question that "by1917, what were the major expression, residual and traces Russian serfdom remained. The monarchy, hierarchy, land tenure, land use rights, the status of women, religion, and ethnic oppression were still existed."What were the tasks completed in terms of the bourgeois democratic revolution directly after the founding of the Soviet regime? From the promulgation of "Land Law" to the solution of the land problem; from the breaking of state machine the Czar left to the form of a democratic regime of workers and peasants; from the abolition of the land ownership to the establishment of a new economic system; from withdrawal from the First World War, advocating signing peace treaty to the establishment of a new equal and peaceful foreign policy:from opposing feudal autocracy to practicing the separation of religion from politics to establish the guiding position of Marxism; from advocating self-determination to realization of the equality of all ethnic groups to the founding of the Soviet Union; from the improvement of the status of women to the establishment of the economic, political and cultural system based on the equality of men and women. So to speak, in the way of the eliminating the remnants of medieval system, savage phenomenon in Russia, and cleaning up obstacle that hindered the cultural development and progress, the new regime thoroughly completed the mission of the democratic revolution. Just as Lenin said,"from the profound inspect on the masses of the people, what we did were much more firm, quick, bold, effective, and much more extensive and deep than the French revolution did125years ago".The new Soviet regime made a lot of work to complete the tasks of the democratic revolution, however, because of more than300years of feudal serfdom, the feudal system, system, especially the extensive social basis of the feudal autocracy, it is impossible to completely eliminate survivals of feudalism in a short period of time, Particularly feudal thought could not be put into the coffin as the dying out of the old system, it would rot in the society. Therefore, from this perspective, what Lenin said "we had done more thoroughly the bourgeois democratic revolution than anyone else" could not be understood as we needn’t to carry out democratic revolution, since we had throughly carry out bourgeois-democratic revolution. It could only be compared with the previous history. In fact, after the new economic policies, a series of articles dictated by Lenin in his later years aim at keeping on opposing the feudal autocratic system to promote the historical process of democracy revolution.Although Lenin had been fighting against the feudal autocratic system, promoting democracy revolution all his life, however, until his death we can’t say that Russia completed the mission of the democratic revolution. I think that the following are unfinished tasks left by Lenin:fail to eliminate thoroughly the influence on country’s highly centralized management system; failed to completely eliminate the influence on highly centralized economic management system; failed to eliminate the influence on the new system brought by the old education and culture; failed to eliminate influence on the new system Russia chauvinism had. After taking power, Stalin could not follow the Lenin’s train of thought to solve the tasks left by the democratic revolution to carry forward the historical process of democracy in Russia, it gradually formed a highly centralized Stalin model. The formation of Stalin pattern, as it were, to a certain extent, provided fertile soil for the reviving of the feudal autocratic system and its thinking, it was in Stalin’s period that appeared the extensification of elimination of counterrevolutionaries and cult of personality. In short, in the new historical conditions with the proletariat in power, how to continue to complete historic mission of feudalism, how to promote the historical process of democratization is a long-term and arduous work. History had shown, with wartime communism highly centralized management system and Stalin’s highly centralized planning management system, it is impossible to eliminate feudal legacy fundamentally. I think that the thought of development of the main tasks put forward by Lenin in his old age when discussing cooperation,"the trinity"——economy, politics and cultural revolution can be used as the basic thought to continue to promote democratization process for the backward country after the founding of the new regime.
