This thesis is to understand Cao Pi’s state of mind during his life and his splendid literature works through analyzing his35letters in which Cao Pi’s love to his relatives、friends and officials was revealed clearly. The free and easy language、rich emotion、smoothly writing made the letters have very high literary value. There are35Cao Pi’s letters left today, from the point of the characteristics of art or writing techniques, this kind of prose have great research value. These35letters give an account of Cao Pi’friendship of giving gifts to each other, cherishing the memory of departed friends and state fairs discussed with his officials. This paper tries to start from the main ideological content and artistic characteristics of Cao Pi’s letters, to deeply research Cao Pi’s letters by studding his writing skills such as lyric、scenery sentimental atmosphere, and the never carve、flat as a vernacular language.This thesis is divided into five chapters, the first chapter is the introduction starting with a simple introduction of Cao Pi from the two aspects of the monarch and the literati followed by a statement of the purpose, significance, current research and research methods of writing this article; The second chapter to the fourth chapter is the main part of this thesis, including the general survey, the ideological content, and the artistic style of Cao Pi’s letters. The last chapter is the conclusion part of the whole paper.Cao pi is different from many emperors in the history, he wrote letters to others only by himself. Although many letters have been incomplete, but we still can see the deep attainments in literature from these letters. Firstly, writing by the full lyrics.
