Comparing Research On Translation Cases From Three Chinese Versions Of Six Signs Of Scientism

During the translation practice, translators’negligence towards the integrity of context involved in source texts usually results in the lack of certain context factors in versions. This is a report on translation practice, mainly including four parts:Introduction, Description of translation cases, Case study and Conclusion. Based on the theory of context integrity and from the perspective of the lack and retrieval of background context factors, including knowledge background, disciplinary background and cultural background, this report tends to do a comparing research on the three Chinese versions of Six Signs of Scientism written by Susan Haack. This paper is aimed at probing into the context bound terms restricting the concrete translation practice in academic translations and then discusses some basic questions about context as well as major translation strategies in academic translation.
