Lydia·Haindelova is a Russian expatriate poetess in China, who came to Harbin at theage of six. At the age of eighteen, she was on the way to literature creation and publishedmany collections of poetry in succession without stopping. Lydia·Haindelova’s poems showus not only a pure and wonderful world but also a simple and real one. Most of her worksbelong to Harbin Critical Realism, among which some belong to symbolism.Lydia·Haindelova is a poetess full of contradictory thoughts, who created a series of uniquelyrics by means of crying. Lydia·Haindelova made a great deal of important contribution tothe development of Russian expatriate literature in China.To start with the poetess’ life and regarding changes of her exiling places as a key point,this article, shows her living condition, mental experience, creation career during differentperiods and thus makes a deep analysis and systematical survey of her poem subject and itsart characteristic, on which it reveals the belonging of trend of thought of her poems.The first Chapter focuses on Lydia·Haindelova and her poems, interprets the poetess’life experience and sorts out the periods of her poem creation. In Chapter two,Lydia·Haindelova’s poem is the subject of study and the author divides it into three parts: thesubject of expatriate life, of love and of female. Through the analysis of its subject, the authorshows Lydia·Haindelova’s unique characteristic. In Chapter Three, the author surveys thepoetess’ inner contradiction from the thoughts implied in her poems. In Chapter Four andChapter Five, the author analyzes Lydia·Haindelova’s two main art characteristics in herpoem creation: One is ‘Crying Lyrics’; another is ‘Lyrics Filled with Smoke&Dust andHaze’.From the above analysis, we can draw the conclusion that Lydia·Haindelova’s poemsmainly belong to Harbin Critical Realism, while, partly, some belong to symbolism. All thisthus makes her earn the important position in Russian expatriate literature in China.
