The campaign for children to recite Confucian Classics is an educational and cultural phenomenon that has grown in China these years. The campaign of reciting Confucian Classics has increasingly flourished and formed a great upsurge after it was introduce into Mainland China in1990s by Wang Caigui, a famous scholar of Taiwan. It has greatly influenced Chinese people’s education. But the campaign has not gone smoothly because problems have arisen in some aspects such as its theories, methods and effectiveness, which has led to strong queries about its scientificity and rationality from its opponents. The bitter argument between the supporters and the opponents has become a hot issue in the field of education and culture. Based on methods of researching literature, of investigating and interviewing and of observing experiments, this essay has a deep analysis and study on the thriving reasons, the focus of dispute and education predicament of children’s reading classic ancient books so as to deeply understand the phenomenon and essence of education on reading classic ancient books and to seek its way-out. It is thought in this essay that there are many causes for the dispute on children’s reading classic ancient books, such as causes of culture, education, morality and economy, which reflects many practical problems in china. Therefore, to solve the problem we should consider it from three aspects:learning more about traditional culture, defining the education and comparing global outlook.
