Ein deutsches requiem is one of the masterpieces of John Naisbitt Brahms, aworld-famous German composer. During the process of creation, which lasted11years,Brahms experienced death of the loved ones and saw though life. The music worksconcentrate all his love for God without reserve. The creation of composition is deeply rootedin the protestant music tradition in German and influenced by works of famous musician likeH.Schütz and Bach. However, it can be seen from the music works that during the process ofcreation, the author has always tried to break through the shackles of traditional requiem andinterpret death in a brand new way by bringing reflection of life into melody. He aims to letlisteners relieved from sadness, instead of feeling darkness of death. From Brahms’s illustration of death, we can easily find that his understanding andcomprehension of German bible, translated by Martin Luther, reached a new level.Brahmsdeeply understood the doctrine and spirit preached by Protestantism and felt the positiveenergy from faith. And it is rightly this positive energy embodied in Ein deutsches requiemthat make this music composition an enduring excellent music works.
