The Chitchat in Beans Canopy, a collection of short stories, was born in the iate Ming and early Qing dynasties, written by lay Buddhist AiNa.. A total of twelve stories were from people who shaded at the beans shed. It was very popular when first published, and few versions existed at that time. By the research on narrative of Chitchat in Beans Canopy, several characteristics are found. First, in terms of narrative situations, there are multi-narrator perspectives that involve full knowledge perspective and limited knowledge perspective, outside perspective and within the perspective, showing the multiple narrative levels that some characters are both the narrators and the narratees. The rare appearance of interaction between the narrators and narratees contributes to the phenomenon of "Polyphony"; Second, in terms of narrative time, influenced by the time concept of "big dominates small", the stories begin with a big space-time background, connecting the history and the reality where the irrefutable logic of human history exists. Because of the deep influence of the thousands of years of farming culture, the concept of four seasons is deeply imprinted in the author’s mind so that the time sequence and time distance also reflect in the stories; Third, in terms of narrative space, all kinds of multi-dimensional story spaces make the narrative more fascinating and meaningful. The intersection of the multi-dimensional story spaces make the clues of the stories complicated and then arouse the interest in reading. The beans shed serving as a structural hub, also forms an infinite imagery space fulfilled with poetry, freedom, holiness and happiness; Fourth, in terms of narrative rhetoric, antithesis and parallelism not only successfully convey the story gist and strengthen the narrative but also make some of the stories more fascinating with diverse interpretations. And puns and metaphors make the stories so witty and lively that the readers will meditate after reading.
