Erich Fromm holds the view that modern capitalist society has been developed by the "production era" to the "consumer age". Alienation from the alienation of labor has been deepened "Consumer alienation"."Consumer alienation" is the unique product of modern capitalism, and its emergence has the profound root causes from society and human nature. The people in consumer alienation like machines, constantly greedy consumption. They are a commodity, no thoughts and feelings, dignity and integrity. There is no democracy and freedom. They live in one after another lies which Manufactured by capitalist society. They think that they are independent, individuality and free happy people, without realizing that they have succumbed to the anonymous authority. In addition, returned to the consumer alienation of modern man has brought the devastating crisis of survival.Fromm worried about the people in the consumer alienation.
