Topic marker is a kind of marker that directly points out the topic. Topic marker exists both in Chinese and Korean, but reflects some differences in typicality, function, comment ellipsis, topic reduction, end topic markers. This paper makes contrastive studies on topic markers in Chinese and Korean from linguistic perspective and discusses its difference in Chinese and Korean.This paper consists of four chapters:Chapter one introduces the object and purpose and research methods of this paper and previous studies on this issue.Chapter two makes a detailed analysis on the features of topic markers both in Chinese and Korean. As for the Korean topic markers, this paper mainly analyzes the function of "(?),"(?)","(?)". As for Chinese topic marker, this paper analyzes the different function of modal particles, pause, and word order in Chinese.Chapter three makes an contrastive analysis of topic markers in typicality, function, comment ellipsis, topic reduction, and topic markers by applying contrastive linguistics theory.Chapter four concludes the analysis of topic markers both in Chinese and Korean.
