There will be many problems when non-native speakers try to translate anEnglish novel to its own language. For instance, grammar problems when it encountersambiguous phrases; cultural differences; how to display the author’s languagecharacteristic correctly, etc. if we want translate some works successfully, we not onlyshould master two languages but also familiarize two cultures.Only if we put words in its particular culture, it will be meaningful. That is to say,translation should include not only languages but also the relevant cultures. In the past,many translations have mostly emphasized the level of inter-lingual communication, butcultural differences were rarely considered. This thesis analyzes the artistic characteristicof the novel, concentrated on special narration and language feature. Appreciate hislanguage characteristic by analysis of some rhetorical techniques that make his workswitty. At the same time, analysis of the translation process of the novel The Forgotten,which includes the division of labor, Information of the author, the translation methods,etc. the whole article pay more attention to the translation method and culturedifference.and also points out The cultural differences between Chinese and Westerninfluence.
