The "Four Wang" painting school had a profound impact on landscape painting field in the Qing Dynasty. The skilled techniques, the meticulous pen and ink and the hard-working practices inheriting from the forefathers’ results, had promote the Qing Dynasty landscape painting making considerable progress. Nevertheless, people have different opinions towards them in today’s society.Firstly, the paper has made simple exposition for the historical background and social environment in which the "Four King" grew in the introduction.Then the writer re-examined the historical significance of the "Four Wang" imitating the tradition and evaluated the artistic status of the "Four King" objectively. The second chapter has made a brief introduction for the life of Wang Hui and Wang Shimin, the mentoring relationship and the style formed, paving the way for studying the single element of the landscape below. The Chapter Ⅲ is about the detailed comparative study of the individual element in the landscape painting of Wang Hui and Wang Shimin, recommending the experience and insights in clinical practice. The Chapter Ⅳ mainly studied what the inheritance and development Wang Yuanqi made for Wang Shimin. By studying Wang Yuanqi apprenticeship journey author can provide the learning "template" for his future learning.
