The Analysis On Zhuxi’s Ecological Thoughts

Zhuxi is a very famous Neo-Confucian during the Southern Song Dynasty of ancient China. On thebasis of the predecessors’ philosophy theory, he build a system of neo-confucianism including factors suchas social, natural and ethical. His philosophical thought also contains rich ecological ethical thought.Through the ways of historical background analyzing and literature researching, this paper aims to mine,analyze, induce, and finally expound the causes of the production and background of ecological ethicalthought, as well as the significance of this thought.This thesis mainly talks about the following contents,firstly, the connotation of Zhuxi’s ecologicalethics:science oriented--putting forward the ecological view of"All things are interlinked"and“An organicwhole of works of god” from the ontological level,advocating the ecological values of "upholdjustice,annihilate desire" from the level of theory of value, following the Confucian idea of"moderation",establishing the methodology of "attaining a state of harmony" on the specificmethodology,and in practice, emphasizing Comply with the law, advocating the economical ideology of"taking under proper planning and consuming under fair control"; secondly,the social background of theformation of Zhuxi’s ecological ethics;thirdly,the harmonious ecological view of " All things areinterlinked ":the principle of nature,the principle of life living; fourthly, the ecological ethics of"Benevolence": fifth,the ecological view of protection that follows the will of God: utilizing the naturalresources by obeying the laws of nature, The protection of natural methodology；and lastly, the realisticvalue of Zhuxi’s ecological ethics.
