Nowadays cowboy elements have swept around the world. Through the study of the classical aesthetics to the aesthetics of daily life which has given out my own interpretation. To deeply probe the origin of the social and aesthetic through a variety of culture and the lateral comparison to analyze the cowboy culture particularity and universality spirit connotation. Thisthesis is divided into three parts. The first part introduces the background of cowboy. Throughthe American west movement, cowboy’s real image in history and the cowboy’s special skills to illustrate the historical motivation of cowboy. The second part introduces how the cowboy will transfer a kind of a profession to a character code through a media of American Westerns. The third part introduces a cultural phenomenon in politics, commerce, entertainment and a new connotation in various fields after the cowboy has been a character code. Starting fromthe previous study of the cowboy I will try to discuss the development of the cowboy’s culture. From analyzing the basis of cowboy prototype, find out its historical origin. Discussing theall-pervasive cultural phenomenon, find out the new connotation which keep constant changes.Analysis the cowboy culture in various fields of spiritual meaning in order to probe the influence from the20th to21thcentry’s cowboy culture and its practical significance of development and popular.
