“Filial piety”, which is the origin of mercy and essential to people, is a treasureof Chinese culture.“Filial piety” with a strong original religious color originatedfrom “harm avoidance”,“blessing” ghosts and gods worship activities in ancienttimes. After the development of the three dynasties of Xia, Shang and Zhou, thethought contents of “filial piety” throughout the people worship of the etiquette areconstantly enriched and diversified. Confucius lived in Chunqiu era, one CeremonyDisintegration, used all his life to initiate the thought of “filial piety”, and extend theextension of “filial piety” and treated “filial piety” as the ethical norms within familyrelations.“Treating parents kindly” has become the most important content of filialpiety.
