The qualitative partis concerned with the analysis of the textual coherence realized at three levels or,specifically, by the thematic interaction patterns (hereafter referred to as TIPs) at thetextual level, the thematic progression patterns (hereafter referred to as TP patterns) atthe paragraph level and the in the textual cohesive devices (hereafter referred to asTCDs) at the sentence level. After detailed analyses with a number of examples, someTIPs have been found out, some TP patterns and cohesive devices with higheroccurring frequencies (hereafter referred to as OFs) are identified. In respect of thequantitative part, the OFs of those TIPs, TP patterns and TCDs are presented. Andwhat the writers of the GOs prefer at each level can be observed from the abovestatistical analyses. The findings of this study will presumably be useful for the teaching of Englishfor Specific Purposes and international business activities.
