Video games are widely popular on a global scale, which have a great impact on the playersof all ages, this has always been the attention of researchers.The effects of different types of videogames on players can be explained by the General Learning Model(GLM). According to the GLM,the effects of video games depend on the content of the game. The violent content in violentvideo games can improve a player’s aggressive cognitive, offensive emotional and behavioraltendencies,while the prosocial video games can improve the player’s pro-social cognitive, pro-social emotional and behavioral tendencies.Previous studies had mainly inspected the effcets ofvideo games on player’s prosocial or antisocial knowledge,empathy, and aggressive behaviortendencies.However, in the recent two years,the researchers found that video games may alsoaffect the player’s humanization.But the existing research only based the subjective reports toexamine the impact of violent video games on people’s humanization, not yet study the prosocialvideo games on players’ humanization up to now. In addition, the subjective report in explicit testhas large errors, and the player’s explicit attitude changes may not be able to reflect their realattitude.So in this study, we inspect the impact of prosocial video games on the player’s selfhumanization and also on others through two experiments from explicit and implicit two levels,inorder to get a comprehensive understand.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)According to the explicit test,compared to neutral game,whether in the dimension ofHuman nature, or the dimension of Human Uniqueness, playing prosocial video gamessignificantly improve the perceived humanity of the self as well as the others. Pyayers see themselfmore humanity as well as others.(2)According to the implicit test,compared to neutral game,in the dimension of Human nature,playing prosocial video games significantly improve the degree of payers’ self-perception bias, buthas no significant effect on others;Whereas, in the dimension of Human Uniqueness, playingprosocial video games not only significantly improve the degree of self-perception bias,but alsoimprove the degree of others perception bias.Relative to the others, players always see themselfmore humanity.
