A Comparison Study Between Chinese Netspeak Euphemism And English Netspeak Euphemism

These days, with the deeply development of the net technology, internet life hasbecome one important side of people’s life. The study of net-speak is attracting moreand more scholars. But there are not so much achievements of the study of contrastedChinese net-speak with English net-speak. This paper emphasis on the comparison ofChinese net-speak euphemism and English net-speak euphemism in the pragmaticaspect, and analysised the culture and economic reasons of the Chinese net-speakeuphemism and English net-speak euphemism.First, this paper stated the achievements of previous scholars’ on net-speak, andpointed out that it is important and necessary to study the euphemism of Chinesenet-speak and English net-speak.Second, this paper gave a comprehensive analysis of the formation of euphemismbetween Chinese net-speak and English net-speak, with the deeply analysis on thesimilarities and the differences between Chinese netspeak euphemism and Englishnetspeak euphemism by aspects of phonetics, lexicology, semantics, rhetoric andsemiology. Then gave the reasons of the formation differences between this two kindsof language with the language and culture aspects.Third, with the pragmatic aspect, this paper contrasted the Chinese net-speakeuphemism with English net-speak euphemism.At the end, the paper came up with the conclusion that both Chinese netspeakeuphemism and English netspeak euphemism would live and develop with the need ofnet citizens and the modern life, at last this paper gave the suggestion that the twolanguages need standardizations to go further.
