In this paper, how to expand the area of printing image and improve the printing image dynamic range are studied.First of all, for how to expand the printing pictures area, this paper discusses the traditional film splicing and modern digital matrix splicing role. Through the argumentation, splicing is one of the most effective methods of expanding pictures area, especially the modern digital matrix splicing, which can maintain accuracy for each unit area while the size of the pictures expanded several times. Then the paper deeply studies the important role of the matrix splicing in optical center node. Through this study, it is found that refraction won’t happen when the light passing through the lens optical center node. When the splicing is operated through wavering up and down or from one side to the other, the back of the splicing operation, the camera always changes according to the axis of the lens heart node, and as a result, the shooting pictures can be eventually spliced together almost perfectly.Secondly, in improving of printing image dynamic range, the problems of the filming object light contrast is too large and shiny dark surface level cannot record completely have been solved through High dynamic range photography skills. During the film period, the photographer usually used RGND, wave black card and darkroom to depress the bright brightness to reduce image contrast, and try to make up for the loss that high contrast caused. After the High dynamic range photography skills appeared, different brightness data of the regional information can be gained through taking more than one Bracketing Exposure pictures with the same content, and respectively recording the details of high contrast object bright surface to the dark. At the same time, the High dynamic range pictures with suitable contrast can be achieved through the combination of the most suitable parts of the pictures chosen by software. As a result, camera dynamic range has been expanded, and pictures have rich gradations, saturated color, and moderate contrast. That is to say, facing the pictures with High Contrast beyond the camera’s dynamic range had, photographers could record the High Contrast level completely and high dynamic range image can be realized.Through the study of film splicing and high dynamic range shooting skills, it is found that both the image size and the dynamic range can be expanded under a certain condition. Printed pictures can get better details and exquisite effect, so that serve people’s sensory experience better.What is more important is that splicing and high dynamic range shooting skills have brought more possibilities for the photographer. It has expanded the photographer’s thought and broken the decisive moment of the traditional photography, which is a new narrative method of photography. Moreover, the new way of thinking brought by this new narrative method has pushed the digital photography to a new era.
