Study On Issues Of Recent Mongolian Short Animation On The Basis Of Character Design And Story Structure

Recent years have seen a lot of increase in the animation field, now it offers extraordinary versatility and range in its style and techniques, but there are some fundamental principles at its heart that distinguish it as an art form. And animation development is still a high demanding subject of studies.In this study, some Mongolian animated short films, which were produced in the last decade, are analyzed, in order to improve the existing situation of animated short film in the country. The goal of this thesis is to theoretical analyzing story of recent Mongolian animated short film, which means systematically isolate fundamental elements of story of animated short film from various elements of feature film. So I compare some recent Mongolian animated short films and foreign, on the basis of story structure and character design. Furthermore, the result shows that most of Mongolian animators do not really understand story structure difference between short and feature films as well as pack so much stuff into animated short film. As such, the result suggests that screen writing is more art than science and commonly there are feature film story elements found in the recent Mongolian animated short film.
