Graphic Design Of The Book And Periodical Covers In Republic Of China

The books-cover design in the Republic of China has been taking significant position in the book cover-designing history of China. Among these covers, there was a batch of classics for the followers to appreciate. The images in the covers form the major power in the basic-tone establishment for the books, which, in the meantime of improving the decorative effects, it has conveyed the books’contents and the writers’ feelings with effectiveness, allowing the book covers in the Republic of China with the unique inherent meanings and aesthetic taste.Starting from the thoughts perspective of graphic designing methods in modern graphic design and by collecting large number of words and image information, it firstly carries out general and accurate classifications on the graphic forms in the covers, carrying out analysis from the perspectives as traditional images, the emerging images in the Republic of China and the images emerging under the influences of emerging images in the Republic of China and the foreign artistic design trend. By obtaining the meaning from the external form, it gives reflections over the reflections of the unification of "external form" and "inherent meaning" in the books of the Republic of China. Moreover, with the descriptions over the traditional artistic background, process of establishment and aesthetic taste, it illustrates the unique inherent meanings of the image designing in the books in the Republic of China.
