Spy Drama is the one of the most rapidly developing TV types in mainland China in recentten years, in terms of quantity, and the quality, have reached an utmost peak and got popular in theaudience, thus attracted the attention of the entire society, at the same time, just because ofcontinuing popular espionage drama, a lot of follow work appeared, which affected thenormal development of this type of drama, thus summing up success and failure, gain and loss ofnew century mainland Spy Drama, especially the deficiency in the narrative experience, to directthe way of the development for Spy Drama, has become a pressing matter of the moment of thecurrent academic.This paper attempts to start from the narrative strategy of Chinese espionage drama in thenew century, and do a comprehensive carding and analysis. The preface analyzes the spydrama story background and the development process, which can be divided into three stages:incubation period, birth and high development, and makes related analysis on specificcharacteristics of each stage and important work, meanwhile, it introduces present researchsituation and research perspective in this paper, through study of the mainland spy TV play sincethe new century, further explores characteristics of this type of TV series in the narrative strategies,as well as difficulties and development strategy, etc.The first chapter mainly analyzes espionage drama content in the aspects of subjectconstruction and characterization, the subject construction contains grand historical background,and also personal hero legend, and the main characters are built from the positive figures, villainsand female characters; the second chapter mainly analyzes the Spy Drama in narrativeway, analyzing from several narrative perspectives: structure, plot, suspense, audio-visuallanguage and so on; the third chapter relates to several Spy Drama narrative contexts, the presentplight and breakthrough methods, there are three aspects included in the narrative context: themainstream consciousness and public interests, national security needs, development of film andtelevision drama itself; the current plight include: homogenization, vulgar and coarse, andthe breakthrough way includes: type of admixture, keep the culture and feelings, build quality, etc.
