The American writer Henry James’ International Theme is pretty well-known and has been widely discussed. His early-period novella Daisy Miller is representative of this International Theme which was a sensation once published.Thus, studying and analyzing the novel is of great significance to better research the International Theme. This paper first introduces the background of the research, including the introduction of the famous American writer Henry James and his popular novella Daisy Miller, and the significance of the research. Then it explores how the theme is illustrated and displayed in this novel in three main aspects, the International Theme in the background in which the author set the story; the International Theme in the use of language and style of communication of each character; and the International Theme in the elaborate-depicted portrayals of the main characters.
