A Study On Note-Taking Based Approach Of Interpreting Strategies Between English And Chinese

With China’s reform and opening up and the rapid development of world economy, interpreting becomes more and more active on the world stage. In a series of activities such as political, economic and diplomatic activities, consecutive interpreting plays a very important role.Note-taking as one of the most important tools for interpreting, it has been paid attention increasingly by interpreters.,but,not so many interpreter can record quickly and properly.Through the ages,there are many arguments and opinions about Theory of Semiotics among the translators.Peirce,C. S, the American founder of Semiotics theory,divided note-taking symbols into three types based on the different relationship between symbols and alleged object.Even though with the rapid development of education, more and more foreign language talents are become interpreters, there are few high level professional talents. In order to make a lot of people understand interpreting and many foreign language talents do this job well, this paper uses Semiotics theory as perspective to analysis Ministry of foreign affairs’note-taking symbols on interpreting to discusses the approach of interpreting strategies.This is the innovation of this paper.Through the analysis, the writer gets this conclusion:First, note-taking is not merely to arrange the symbols,it should through understanding the meaning of original language to record note-taking symbols according to Spatial logic order.Second,the process of recording interpreting notes, we should make full use of various symbols and logos to form our own symbol system.Memorize special symbols distinctively, reduce the reaction time and improve the efficiency of translation.Thirdly,symbols should be simple,they can’t correspond with original language accurately,interpreter should recall it from memory and symbols and interpret in target language.Based on the previous research,I analysis about methods of recording note-taking symbols deeply,it may does help in learning interpretation.
