Studies On The West Lake Poems From The Early To Mid-Qing Dynasty

As a bright pearl in Hangzhou which is considered to be an earthly paradise, West Lake has attracted many men of letters to be here and left a large number of poems of West Lake because of its beautiful natural scenery and exquisite unique charm.The West Lake Poems has a long history.The earliest poem of West Lake is "Qiantang Su Xiaoxiao song." written by unknown of Southern Qi Dynasty. There are a lot of poems mentioned West Lake in "The Collection of He Yue Ying Ling" which was compiled by Yin Fan in Tang Dynasty, these poems can also be said of the early West Lake Poems. The West Lake Poem had developed to its peak in Tang and Song Dynasties, many poets such as Bai Juyi, Lin Bu, Su Shi had created works related with the West Lake which had far-reaching impacts. The poems of West Lake in Yuan and Ming dynasties learned from Tang and Song Dynasties had retro style,To the Qing Dynasty, the southern tours of feudal rulers had promoted the development of the West Lake, at the meantime, the Qing Dynasty literature showed a " resurgence " of the situation,so West Lake Poem had got a renaissance, developed constantly and gradually becoming more mature. As an important member of poetics, poems of Weat Lake of Qing Dynasty has enriching the ancient Chinese poetry with its unique content and charm.We can research and analysis on the poets through West Lake poem which is very important to literary to get more information about their life experiences,ideological connotations,writing style and the cultural characteristics of West Lake itself, thus the goal of enriching the studies of Ancient West Lake Poetics and the development of Ancient Poetics can be achieved. This paper focuses on the studies on the West Lake Poems from the early to mid-Qing Dynasty, Especially three main poets,Qian Qianyi, Li E and Yuan Mei’poems,combined with other poems in the same period to learn the artistic features, literary value and impact of West Lake Poem from the early to mid-Qing Dynasty, to get more information about West Lake Poem in Qing Dynasty and promote the development of studies on the West Lake Literature and West Lake Poetics. This paper has six chapters.The first chapter researches the development of Ancient West Lake Poems, the definition of West Lake Poems and the current situation, the meaning and the methods of the studies on The West Lake Poems.The second chapter analyzes the poems in each stage from the early to mid-Qing Dynasty through the main line of its development.The third chapter focuses on Qian Qianyi, Li E and Yuan Mei’poems, studies on their writing style by analyzing the listed poems in this chapter.The fourth chapter mainly talks about West Lake Poems written by two monarchs, KANG Xi and Qian Long.Their poems are summarized on the base of the mentioned scenery spots, and they are analyzed from different themes.The fifth chapter studies on the poems of female writing group, especially the Jiao Yuan Poetry Club and the female disciples from Sui Yuan.The sixth chapter summarizes the characteristics and status of West Lake Poems from the early to mid-Qing Dynasty.
