Science1980s, there have been a transformation by PARADIGM in the field of history——from the so called "New History" to the Society Culture History. The Society Culture History can also be named" the New Culture History". It was caused by the Culture Turn or the Language Turn, and was given birth in the France. Than it began to spread to the world-wide. What’s more, a great deal of scholars in the field of Humanities and Social Science took part in this ideological trend, included Historians, Anthropologists, Sociologists and even Literary Critics.Among this ideological trend of Culture History, Peter Burke, the professor of Cambridge University took the long-term commitment to find the connection and way to communication between Society and Culture, Social Theory and History. He also take delight in exploring the new field for History Writing. Both theory and the practice research of him play an important role in the stage of foundation-laying and development of the Society Culture History.In the field of theoretical research, Professor Burke summed up the research productions of western scholars and the Annales School scholars. Than he formed his own fundamental theory of the Society Culture History, especially for the cross connection of Society Culture History and Sociology. In the field of practice research, Professor Burke took the place of world leading position of academic among the field of the cultural history of Image, the cultural history of Language, the social history of Knowledge and using the images as historical evidence, etc. Therefore, this article will study both theory and practice. So as to do the research of Professor Burke’s ideology of the Society Culture History.
