National congress of Chinese Natural Dialectics Research Association is an annualevent of the natural dialectics which gathering elites and experts of this circle and itis also an important platform for academicians and experts to exchange ideas andacademic achievements in this field. This translation project includes sightinterpreting materials of opening speeches from Vice Minister of education Wu Qidiand Qi Rangthe Secretariat of the China Association at the opening ceremony andwork report from Zhu Xun on the sixth national congress of Chinese naturaldialectics Research Association.Different from the function of other types of text, conference address focuses onexpressing the view, attitudes or political status of oneself, his organization or state.Conference address has become an important way to communicate for certain issuebetween countries and industries, covering a wide range of contents includingpolitics, economy, science and technology, and culture whose language is relativelyformal, so the significant of its translation can not be underestimated. During mystudy as a graduate, my supervisor concentrated on translation teaching on these twokinds of texts. Combining with the above elements, the author chooses this programas translate task. In this translation practice report, the author proposes the basic aimand standard of the translation of conference address and work report of by analyzingthe function, aim and language orientation, set up the translation process controlaccording to the characteristic of the text and the task requirement. At the same time,as the key part of this practice report, the author will summarize the translationmethods of translation paten of certain sentence, and ways to ensure the accuracy oftranslation and achieve the communication function of text by separating andintegrating the sentence group in the process of translation process.Meanwhile, through this translation practice the author needs to comprehend thesubject background of this kind of text and the characteristics and position of thespeaker, and learn to balance the aim and function of the translation. This report is expected to provide some reference on translation management and translationprocess control for the translators who conduct translation task in this fieldconference address and work report.
