Nowadays, some religious works abroad are widely read and accepted in China. For example,the Bible is quite popular as a reading material providing many myths and legends. While there aremany religious works that are not translated or could not be found, so some foreign names are noteasy to get. But from the popularity of the Bible, we could realize the value of religious literature.As religion is part of the western culture, it will greatly enhance the cultural exchange andunderstanding between China and western countries. Of course, one could get a betterunderstanding of Christianity without actually converting to a Christian. Therefore, this bookplays an important part in giving a detailed description of the development of Jewish Christianityand the story of Jesus. Although the history is not necessarily real, it could provide readers apositive thinking and an informative insight.During the translation process of religious texts, the religious terms matter the most. Up tillnow, many scholars have studied their language features and summarized relevant principles andstrategies. In addition, some dictionaries and websites in China and foreign countries concerningreligious terms are available for reference. It is recognized that the translation of religious termsrelies greatly on their foreign meanings because religion is not so popular in China; thus theestablished or prevailing translated names (if any) are used frequently from some authoritativewebsites such as Wikipedia. After that, many translated books have to be referred to for acceptablereligious terms. For those requiring rendering, strategies such as literal translation, foreignizationand transliteration are employed during the process. Besides, it is the precision that counts in thetranslation process, so the translator tries to maintain a scrupulous attitude to fulfill the precisetranslation of religious terms.
