This study investigates, under the theoretical framework of the Multidimensional Model, theacquisitional process that South Korean students learn “Le”. It adopts research methods such asImplicational Scale, Correlation Analysis and Cluster Analysis, and studies the development ofthe acquisitional process of nine forms of “Le” structure for South Korean students in threelevels (elementary; intermediate; and advanced). This research describes a real picture of SouthKorean students’ learning experience, and analyses their internal language processing strategies. The main findings of this study lie in the fact that it differentiates the three stages of SouthKorean students’ acquisitional process in understanding the nine forms of “Le” structure. Theoverall trend of the three stages is the intervening of the different categories. In particular, itstarts the typical case of “Le” being at the end of sentences, then moves on to the scenario of“Le” being at the middle of sentences, and finally the situation of “Le” being at the front. Duringthese stages, South Korean students are subject to limitations such as canonical order strategy, insertion strategy, and initialization strategy. During the acquisitional process, the learner mustconstantly get rid of the limitations in language processing, so as to gradually gain new languageprocessing strategy, and proceed to the next stage of learning. This research develops brand new arguments and opinions on the acquisitional process of SouthKorean students’ learning of nine forms of “Le” structure. It contributes to the literature on theacquisitional process of “Le” in the context of studying Chinese as a second language. It alsosheds lights on the teaching and examining of “Le”.
