| The literature world of Lu Xun is so rich and profound, so that there are too many ways to get into his art world, to approach the kernel of his soul. In this article, I choose the image of mothers in Lu Xun’s fictions as entry points, to explore his creative consciousness behind these images and the relations between the creative consciousness and his personal experience of family life. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the article is divided into three parts. The first chapter mainly presents all the images of mother in Lu Xun’s fictions. According to different fates of these mothers, I classify them into four types:the helpless and sad mothers, the insulted and injured mothers, the tough and powerful mothers, the mothers who are lack of love to their children. Combined with the fictions, I intend to interpret the significance of these mother images.Through the images of mothers, the second chapter mainly analyzes Lu Xun’s creative consciousness. I discuss it in the following three aspects:First, the conflicting consciousness mixed filial piety with resentment. I analysis the writer’s conflicting consciousness to his mother from two angles of maternal love which soothes his soul and the love which has become his burden. Second, the desperation consciousness mixed loneliness with fear. Based on the analysis of suffering mothers, I found the writer’s desperation consciousness is inevitable, because Lu Xun had realized that the Chinese tradition culture of "cannibalism" was so long, and the ignorant people was so many, and the ideal of "cultivating people" was very slim. Third, the hope consciousness based on his worship for motherhood. By analyzing the images of mother full of strength and the positive changes in the ignorant people, I try to interpret the writer’s hope consciousness comes out of his worship for motherhood. The third chapter mainly analyzes the influence of his mother when Lu Xun formed his creative consciousness. It focuses on the following three aspects:the hometown in his childhood, the mother who made him love and hate, the struggles in his loveless marriage. Through these materials, I intend to illustrate the impact of Lu Xun’s mother on his creative consciousness. |
