| As a typical Chinese sitcom which can reflect the lives in modern metropolitan cities of the new generation, IPartment has attracted large quantities of audience with its humorous dialogues and romantic stories. Based on the modern linguistic theories of Conversation Analysis led by Sacks and Adaptation proposed by Verschueren, this paper makes a detailed study on the dialogues collected from IPartment (season3rd). Thus, aiming at providing a guidance for a better understanding of this sitcom and for the future work of sitcom playwrights, the macro and the micro conversational structures of IPartment are analyzed by means of comparison analysis, description and explanation analysis, corpus analysis and etc.As to the structure of this thesis, five parts are included:Part one serves as a brief introduction of this thesis. Subjects like the research backgrounds of overseas and domestic sitcoms, conversation analysis and Adaptation Theories, the meaning and purpose of this paper writing, as well as the research methods are all mentioned in this part.Part two mainly discusses the macro conversational structure of IPartment. To be specific, by comparing with daily conversation, the structural features of the opening, the body and the ending parts are the main research findings of this part.Part three is a detailed study on the micro conversational structure of IPartment. Specifically speaking, we have summarized the structural features of adjacency pairs, dispreferred organizations and conversational repairs after comparing with the structures of daily conversation.Part four focuses on the dynamic linguistic adaptation mechanism of IPartment’s conversational turn-taking system. It is elaborately illustrated that the dynamic inter-adaptation among contextual correlates and structural objects can be achieved and reflected as speakers construct, allocate and monitor conversational turns.The last part is a brief conclusion of this paper. All the research outcomes are listed. Besides, the deficiencies and the problems remained to be solved are pointed out in this ending section. |
