This is a report on translation of Advertising written by Winston Fletcher and published by Oxford University Press in2010.The book is an informative one which refers to the field of advertising. The translator chooses Chapter5and Chapter6as the source text for the translation project. The report introduces the background, the goal and significance of the translation project, and etc. Also,the report has a detailed study on translation difficulties encountered in the process and translation methods. Through the adoption of different translation methods,the translator makes the target text fluent, trying to make the translated text closest to the style of the source text and helping the receptor language readers receive the same information as the source language readers to the maximum extent. In the conclusion, the translator summarizesthe experience and lessons of the translation project and put forward the problems to be solved. The translator hopes that this project can provide a satisfactory reference for our Chinese people.
