A Multiple Perspective On "the Reconstruction Of Literary Sociology"

The literary sociology is the research on the relationship between literature andsociety. In the special background of China in20century, researches on literarysociology had been affect by the vulgar sociology deeply. And the further impactabout this fact is that the relationship between literature and society becomemechanization and simplistic. In order to correct this error, some scholars have putforward the slogan that “the reconstruction of literary sociology”. Since1980s tonow, this slogan throughout the entire process of literary sociology studying.Analyzing “the reconstruction” is very helpful for realizing the developmentprocess of literary sociology and the future development of China’s literarysociology.The first part of this thesis mainly introduce the background and the resultingresponse of “the reconstruction of literary sociology”. The background includesthe literary sociology spread to China in1920s, the flooding and resisting of vulgarsociology during1950s to1970s, the restoration and development of literarysociology in the new period, etc. After the proposing of the slogan, some scholarsresponse positively and make la lot of theoretical results. But it is worth ponderingthat these scholars are only small part of the whole academic circles.The second part explains the meaning of “the reconstruction”, analyze thelimitation and the rationality of “the reconstruction”, and explore the essence andcore of “the reconstruction”.“The reconstruction” means clearing the old wrongrelationship of literature and society and then, more important, constructing themodern forms of literary sociology what is in line with the current era and thereality of literature.The last part points out the possible future of the literary sociology byanalyzing of the research achievements and problems of literary sociology in newcentury, and summarizing the achievements and shortcomings of “thereconstruction”.
