| The Chinese American literature plays an important role in the Americanliterature. It not only enriches the American literature, but also has a strong influenceon American society. Among the Chinese American writers, there is a group ofexcellent writers. They have recorded the Chinese Americans’ real experiences inAmerican society in their literary works, and express their psychological changingand pursuit. Though they have different attitudes towards Chinese culture, they tellthe readers the stories of the Chinese Americans who have been working hard andtrying their best to gain their position in the American society. With the rise of theChinese American writers, the changes of the Chinese Americans’ social identity andideology have become a prominent part in Chinese American literature, and suchchanges inevitably become the focus of literary studies as well. The works of JadeSnow Wong, Shawn Wong and Gish Jen are the representative works which mainlyreflect the evolution of Chinese Americans’ professional identity. The thesis takestheir works as research object to discuss the Chinese Americans’ professional andspiritual evolution.
