Camus concernedextraordinary about the problems of human existence, such ashuman alienation, selection, revolt, which were perceived andstudied in his novels, essays, plays and philosophical works. In thispaper, we will choose Camus ’s dramatic texts for study and use thetheory of existentialism, intending to explore the dilemma, selection, transcendence of existence of characters and causing us to thinkdeeply on the meaning of life. This paper consists of four parts. The first part introduces therelevant research status of Camus’s dramatic works. The second partfocuses on the dilemma of the existence of Camus’s dramaticcharacters, including the dilemma of the hermitage of Christ, of theloss of their homes, and of facing the absurd predicament. The thirdpart focuses on the existing choice of dramatic characters, includingthe choice of God, of homes, and of individual choices. The fourthpart has a emphasis on the existence of transcendence ofcharacters, including the transcendence of the loss ofChrist, awakening dream of the home, the freedom of the road. Thesecond, third and fourth parts of this paper constitute an integral structure, for example,"pyramid" style, and focus on three corewords,Christ, home, and individual. What’s more, we will analyzesome problems of dilemma, selection and transcendence fromrelevant points, and manage to find a road to freedom after analysis ofdilemma and selection. The study of dramatic characters is not easy, and it is also full ofcharm and leads us to think deeply of our lives. If thinking is a nobleword, I hope this kind of noble could often accompany us. What’smore, I hope such thinking could give us a higher sense of presenceand the most abundant poetic life.
