A Research Of Yang Wanli’s Friendship Poems

Yang Wanli is one of four noted poets in the Southern Song Dynasty. His poems, especially "Chengzhai Style"poems, are unique in that period. Yang Wanli writed about1114friendship poems, which are related to his477fiends. These poems concerned with friendship involve extensive contents and distinctive features. In the Southern Song Dynasty specific cultural context, Yang Wanli friendship poems are inextricably linked to the prevailing culture and the scholar-bureaucrat culture. The research of Yang Wanli’s friendship poems will help us to form a more comprehensive understanding of Yang Wanli true thoughts, personality, attitudes and cultural feelings, and to clarify this period complex political and social relation, therefore to enhance recognizing the face of community as a whole. This paper is divided in to four chapters to discuss the characteristics of Yang Wanli’s friendship poems, and strive to make a systematic and comprehensive analysis. The first chapter:Yang Wanli’s friends group. These friends include teachers and seniors, peer friends, younkers and disciples. Through the classification narrative of Yang Wanli three parts friends crowd, mainly the typical individual figure for clues, we can learn the stories between Yang Wanli and his friends, and make a brief description of this situation. The second chapter:the ideological content of Yang Wanli’s friendship poems. Yang Wanli’s friendship poems main cover the unwilling separation feeling and the miss to his fiends; the poetry study and communication between Yang Wanli and his friends; and the description of the scenery and object. We can experience his friendship poem’s rich meaning. The third chapter:the artistic characteristics of Yang Wanli’s friendship poems. From the straightforward expression of sincere feelings, the construction of spiritual nature, and the use of easy wonderful language, especially his "Chengzhai Style" included in the friendship poems,we can taste the uniqueness of his friendship poems.The forth chapter:the link between Yang Wanli’s friendship poems and Southern Song dynasty scholar-bureaucrat culture.From historical and cultural view, we can investigate the impact of scholar-bureaucrat culture of the two aspects: scholar culture, scholar-bureaucrat feelings. This text attemps to carry on an overall systemtic research to Yang Wanli’s friendship poems from individual and social aspcts, through using methods as tatistics, comparation, and the method combined literature with history.
