Recent studies have suggested that optimal input is important in successfulsecond language vocabulary acquisition. Most have approached the issue from theperpective of social interaction. But how to approach or maximally realize optimalinput is still a tough task since the scene of second language vocabulary acquisition isstill bleak. This study endeavours to find theoretical anchorage from the confluence of threetributaries of changes, i.e. the evolution of input theory highlighted by InputHypothesis, Interaction Hypothesis and Output Hypophyses, the marginalization andreturn of Second Language Vocabulary Acquisition, and the revolutionary change ofComputer-Assisted Language Learning to Mobile-Assisted Language Learning(MALL). Then based on the gaps found therein, a Database Regulation Model andhypotheses on the vocabulary acquisition in MALL environment are put forward. And then in order to verify the hypotheses, an experiment is conducted on40adult students. Results suggest that there are significant differences betweenpremodified input and interactionally-modified input in MALL environment, andinteractionally-modified input in MALL environment is a large step forward tooptimal input.
