People suffered frequent calamities and repeated famines, which entered in the poetry and prose, and became special materials for authors to write at the same time.According to The Book of Songs, The pre Qin, Han, Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties Poetry, Quan shang gu san dai qin han san guo liu chao wen, based on the author’s records and statistics, the number of the Jin dynasty and its previous dynasties’Calamities Poetry and Fu is more than120. Currently research on the natural disaster, the history of philosophy and other fields have achieved good results. However, research in the field of literature is less.This study regards these poems as the object, devoted to studying the Calamities Poetry and Fu involving realistic contents, the state of the society and the attitudes of people when calamities occurred. Meanwhile, the study aims to identify creative causes and conditions of these works, and to demonstrate their artistic characteristics.The paper consists of three parts. The first part analyses three reasons about creating the Calamities Poetry and Fu:1-, The Calamity frequent reality is the soil of the emergence and development of the Calamity Poetry and Fu.2、The popular concept of " Heaven human induction" is the subjective basis of poetry creation.3、Different fate affect the style of the works. The second part is about the contents of the Calamities Poetry and Fu. The contents of the Calamity Poetry and Fu covered all aspects of social life, and can be mainly divided into three aspects. Firstly, from good politics and bad politics aspects, it involved in the matter of national politics. Secondly, The main writing content is about the livelihood of the people, which includes complaining God, hating rulers and having pity on suffering people. Thirdly, it analyzes the Calamity Poetry and Fu, these include two aspects:lamenting experiences and expressing feelings. The last part is about three areas of the artistic features, such as the choice of images, emotional expression and aesthetic style.Through the above analysis, we can see traces of the calamities from the life of the ancients, discover the value of the Calamities Poetry and Fu and find its profound influence on the later authors, for instance, Mei yaochen and Pu songling.
