| The relationship between art and emotion, as early as the Warring States period, has attracted ancient Chinese’s attention. During which the concept of Melancholy beauty is an important aesthetic tendency of Chinese classical literature. Previous discussions of this issue put more focus on the creative practice and social environment, treated it as a subject matter of literature; in other way, compared it with the Western concept such as Tragedy.This paper attempts to discuss the law of literature itself, with the poet Qu Yuan and Han Dynasty literary analysis, try to find how the concept of Melancholy beauty became a critical aesthetic tendency on the history of Chinese literature.This paper is divided into two main parts.Part I focus on the Melancholy beauty in ancient Chinese literature. This Part is divided into two chapters.The First chapter discuss the concept of Melancholy beauty in ancient Chinese literature and its different forms in different historical periods.The second chapter compared the Melancholy beauty in ancient Chinese literature and the concept of the idea of tragedy, especially the tragedy theory of Aristotle, trying to find the similarities and differences between them.Part II is mainly discuss the how the concept of Melancholy beauty generated in ancient Chinese literature and its influence on the literature tradition. It can divided into three chapters.The first chapter focus on poet Qu Yuan as the idol of the Han Dynasty and how he affected the literary community of the era.The second chapter, discuss how "Writing can lead to immortal " and awakening of individual consciousness of the intellectual in Han Dynasty, trying to explain sentimental aesthetic tendencies is started with the literature tradition.The third part talks about the unique metaphor in "Lament", discourse that it is with the way of lyrical that Chinese classical literature realized the transmission from "sentimental" to "beautiful". |
