The thesis begins with the development of realism oil painting in Guizhou since the founding of the nation, and then analyzes the localization factors of Guizhou oil painting-----regional culture, folk culture, and so on, which influence Guizhou oil painting. And then define the artists’regional characters. Through the analysis of the oil painting works’picture language and the social background of the implied description objects, it interprets the particular regional culture, the spiritual connotation and value of the traditional resource. At the same time, under the condition of the multicultural artistic ideological trends and art schools, it analyses the development of realism oil painting in Guizhou and proposes some suppositions. Finally, on the basis of the scientific of realism painting, and combining with Guizhou local regional resources advantages of the theme of minor nationality in Guizhou, it proposes the feasibility and long-term orientation of the development of realism oil painting in Guizhou. And it also analyzes the defects exiting in Guizhou realism oil painting. For example, a tiny minority of oil painting works cut off from the support of regional culture, which makes the works simplify and similar resulting from the lack of innovation. And the author also proposes some opinions for the lack of the spirit connotation in the picture from the perspective of the topic selecting, wishing to comb the development context, and digging out the inevitability trend that the creation and development of Guizhou realism oil painting is correlated with the regional culture.The thesis is divided into four chapters:Chapter Ⅰ is to simply comb the historical background and reasons that the realism oil painting came into being in Guizhou. With the examples of Guizhou artists’ oil painting works, the aesthetic features of regional culture in Guizhou, and the descriptions of the caring for "the other" and the affirmation for "self, it interprets and analyzes the reflecting on the spirit value in the regional culture of the Guizhou realism oil painting. The fourth chapter is conclusion. Facing problems of Guizhou realism oil painting from the perspective of its own, it proposes some opinions and suggestions for these problems, and tries to find the ways to inherit and develop Guizhou realism oil painting.Overall, the thesis is based on the exploring of the artistic value of Guizhou oil paintings which trend to be realism. Through the analysis and contrastive study on the local painting works, it deeply interprets the regional awareness and the spirit value reflecting in pictures.
