With the boost of urbanization, more and more rural residents move to cities, resultedin great changes such as living conditions, work, life style, interpersonal relationship,traffic, environment, and so on. For the urbanization resident, except for materialconditions improvement, psychological states should be paid more attention. Well-being,as the important psychological evaluation indicators of human being’s living quality,generally evaluates individual status of life. In order to probe for the factors affectingurbanization residents’ well-being and relevant mechanism, this research appliesquantitative and qualitative methods (i.e. interview and questionnaire survey) accordinglyto study urbanization residents’well-being.The research consists of two studies. In the first study, by means of semi-structuredinterviews with18urbanization residents, combining with the information collect frominternet, I investigated the residents’ well-being in between the urbanization, and analyzethe data on the basis of grounded theory. Results showed that there were four types offactors affecting urbanization residents’ well-being: individual variables, economic factors,social factors and situational factors.On the basis of the qualitative analysis, the second study make a further explorationon the various factors impacting on well-being and the mechanism, by means ofquestionnaire survey of376urbanization residents. The results showed that:1) values, coreself-evaluations, emotional intelligence and zhongyong thinkinghad significantly positive impacts on urbanization residents’ well-being;2) Traditionalitymoderated the relationship between core self-evaluations/emotionalintelligence/zhongyong thinking and urbanization residents’ well-being;3)coreself-evaluations/emotional intelligence influenced well-being by interpersonal relationships;4) the interactional effect of core self-evaluations/emotional intelligence and traditionalityon well-being were mediated by interpersonal relationships. Finally, I discussed the results of the studies, put forward the countermeasures andsuggestions to improve urbanization residents’well-beings, as well as the limitations of thestudy and future research directions.
