Tibetan college students’English learning under the background of Tibetan-Chinese-English trilingual languages’ teaching has its own complexity and uniqueness compared with Han nationality college students’ English learning under the bilingual background. This article takes Tibetan college students’English learning under the background of "Tibetan-Chinese-English" trilingual languages as research object to investigate and analyze their learning state, learning motives, learning strategy, leaning style and confidence to obtain the first-hand material and data as objective proof for the research by using the basic theory and research methods of ethnology, education and English linguistics. Meanwhile, on the basis of the related theories of the education, English linguistics, psychology, further explore and analyze the English learning characteristics of the Tibetan college students as well as put forward the author’s personal ideas and suggestions.The main methods of this research are document analysis, observation, interviewing, and questionnaire. This article explores Tibetan college students’ learning characteristics under the background of "Tibetan-Chinese-English" trilingual languages. It also analyses Tibetan college students’ learning state of Gansu Normal University for Nationalities, and on the basis of the state, summing up the learning characteristics of this special group. According to the results of the investigation, many influence factors and open questions have been analysed, coming up with concrete solutions and suggestions to those open questions. Finally drawing a conclusion:Tibetan college students under the background of "Tibetan-Chinese-English" trilingual languages should value emotional factors’influence on English learning; Guide the students to change learning beliefs, optimize learning strategy; To correctly deal with the difference under the background of multi-language and multi-culture, emphasize cross-cultural communication. In the process of teaching, teachers should actively explore and study trilingual teaching, emphasize training trilingual teachers; optimize teaching strategy and methods, innovate teaching modes; write suitable textbooks for Tibetan college students under the background of "Tibetan-Chinese-English" trilingual languages.
