The Study Of The Central Committee Of Senior Cadres Conference Of Northwest Bureau In1942

Under the direct eadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Partyof China, the Central Committee of senior cadres conference of the Northwest Bureauwas held in Yanan from October19,1942to January14,1943. Three big issues weresolved at this meeting.The first one was about the historical lessons of the party, thesecond was the issue of unified leadership and the third was the matter of the currentmain task. The settlement of these three issues, was not only the summary of the pasthistory, the correction of the biase existing in the party, but also pointing the way out ofthe later work and making the development of production the main task of the borderregion in future.The conference was carried out on the basis of rectification thoughts. The meetingwas open and warm, democratic and pragmatic. It solved the most urgent historicalproblem and realistic problem of the border area and made a series of discussions aboutthe Shensi-Kansu-Ningsia Border Region’s economic construction, politicalconstruction, cultural construction and so on, making the focus of the work transferredfrom " military first" to "the production first", the construction of democratic politicsdeepened further from the surface form to the substance and cultural education is moreclose to the masses.After the meeting, according to its spirit, the party and government of BorderRegion formulated a number of policies and measures and the whole nation wasmobilized to develop the production. It gradually corrected the past error of paying toomuch attention to the democratic form while it attached more importance to theexploration of the essence of democracy. Besides,culture and education are more close tothe masses,serving the masses,benefiting the masses.The border region has shown a goodscene of economic growth, political stability and cultural prosperity.
