The21st century being the era of knowledge economy, knowledge plays a veryimportant role in the economic and social development. Intellectual property objectivelycan bring substantial economic benefits. Precisely for this reason, in the frantic pursuit ofthe interests, with the rapid development of international trade, the number of internationaltrade in illegal goods which infringing intellectual property rights appears a rise trend. Thisbehavior has seriously disrupted the normal order of international trade, brought hugeeconomic losses to international trade, and also damaged the country’s image. Therefore,how to strengthen the effective protection of intellectual property rights has been attractedmuch international attention. China attaches great importance to intellectual propertyprotection work, and this is also reflected in the Eighteen Report. Currently, we protectintellectual property by the Chinese characteristics of the judicial and administrative“dual-track” protection mechanisms. In the international trade, customs assume primaryresponsibility for the investigation and handling of the infringing goods. Through theactivities of annual “Top Ten intellectual property cases” and “4.26Intellectual PropertyRights Awareness”, we can hear many good news about the protection of intellectualproperty rights which achieved by the customs, but there still exist some problems whenthe customs on the duty in the investigation and handling of the suspected infringing goods,so we should pay more attention to it.
