Jean-Jacques Rousseau was one of the greatest French Enlightenment thinkers in18th century. His research involves all aspects such as philosophy, education. literature, and so on. His ideas had a tremendous impact on later generations.Through the sharp judgment to human civilization, make a thorough inquiry of the origin of human inequality, then reconstruction the virtue oriented political order, Rousseau expounded the most reasonable reform method of politics, civilization and education to human society in his unique way. He provided a new vision for the world.The political ethic thoughts of freedom. equality and general will of Rousseau, deeply shocked the whole European. His theories became the guiding ideology of the French Revolution, and played a significant positive role of freedom and democracy spread around the world. His thoughts changed the orientation of modern political philosophy.Admittedly, Rousseau’s political ethic thoughts have great ideal, he can not get out the limitations of the petty bourgeoisie. His desire was a Utopian fantasy. But no doubt that Rousseau shouted out the most resounding voice in the Enlightenment. Rousseau as a great thinker will always be remembered by history.
