Research On Gramsci’s "Cultural Hegemony" Theory

Antonio Gramsci is not only one of the founders of Western Marxism theory,but also a great proletarian revolutionist and the ideologist. In30s of the20thcentury, facing the "Soviet model" suffered defeated in the western developedcountries, Gramsci has carried on his deep reflection and exploration and putforward to his famous assertion: the theory of "Cultural Hegemony". He thought thecivil society has developed well in western countries, if only by means of usingviolence to overthrow the outside cover of a country is not complete, this way cannot really achieve the victory of the revolution, but must obtain the leadership in thefield of ideology first. It is not only a new road of the proletariat revolution, but alsothe further development of Marxism. Nowadays, probing to and further discussingthe theory of "Cultural Hegemony" also has the valuable reference for our socialistmodernization construction.This paper consists of four parts.The introduction part mainly clarifies the significance of topic, including itstheoretical significance and practical significance. Secondly, the paper narrates theresearch on the situation and the process of "Cultural Hegemony" of Gramsci athome and abroad present. Then the innovation of this paper are introduced, finallysimply introduced the content of the framework structure.The first chapter of this article mainly narrates historic background and thetheoretical source of "Cultural Hegemony". Including deep social crisis of capitalismwhich is a large surrounding; Gramsci carried on a deeper think when facing thebitter failure in proletariat revolution and Western Europe; The last is his nativecountry--Italian’s special regime organization form. Then introduced the varioussources of "Cultural Hegemony" of, in addition affected by Machiavelli, Marx,Lenin, also under the influence of Labriola.In second chapter, the basic content of "Cultural Hegemony" theory isintroduced. After reading a large number of books and concluded on the basic theoryof predecessors made, I summed up the characteristics and connotation of "CulturalHegemony". Theory of "Cultural Hegemony" has four essential important contents,the first is its philosophy foundation, which we call practical philosophy; the secondis civil society--the implementation place for "Cultural Hegemony". The third is its realization way, political parties and intellectuals, the fourth is the strategy of"Cultural Hegemony"--the "trench warfare". All these four parts constitute the basiccontents of "Cultural Hegemony".The third part is the most important chapter in this paper. Theory study is notonly to understand the ins and outs of it. The emphasis of the point is to get someinspiration, theory can guide practice and it is its real role. As a result, the thirdchapter, give the objective evaluation of the status, innovation and deficiency of"Cultural Hegemony" theory. In the second section, it emphatically discussed theenlightenment of the socialist modernization construction in our country. Included inthe important enlightenment function to strengthen the construction of socialistculture; We must pay great attention to and make use of the "social cement" role ofintellectuals; And also must continue to promoting the Marxism popularization,enlightening significance to stick to the socialist position, it is the focus of thisarticle and the important meaning.
