At the periods of Chavez served as to Venezuelan President, due to the staunchanti-American stance, he has attracted the attention of the international community,and has win the resonance of Latin America and many other countries in the world.View from the twists and turns of the Chavez government in the ruling years, theUnited States is undoubtedly the most important external factor that affect thepolitical stability and economic development on Venezuela. The relation betweenVenezuela and the United States exist the contradiction that is deep and hard toovercome.The first chapter introduces the Venezuelan political and economic profile, andthe United States seized the opportunity of the economic crisis in the1980s,implanting neo-liberalism to Venezuela strongly. Thus, it intensified the Venezuelandomestic contradictions. While Chavez’s distinct anti-neo-liberalism assertion wonpublic opinion and the electoral victory by obtaining major ballot.The second chapter expounds Chavez at the beginning of be in power, hisdiplomatic relations with the Clinton administration was in the short peace, andactively promote OPEC’s strategy of limiting production and keeping price, thenationalization of the oil in the country. These measures improved the economicsituation in Venezuela, and gained the support of citizens, but violated the interests ofthe United States and the domestic elite. The Bush administration coming to powershifted to take a tough attitude. The contradictions gradually intensified until the finaloutbreak.The third chapter, under the strong interference of the bush administration, theconflicts between these two nations broke out. With the support of the United States,the group against Chavez launched a series of events to overthrow the Chavezgovernment, such as "411" coup, general oil strike and a referendum to recall thePresident Chavez in2004. Owing to the public supports and international soundsource, Chavez consolidated its power, and more firmly against the interference of theUnited States.The fourth chapter, Chavez had resolved a series of crises, began to implement the more fierce anti-American policy by using the trump card ‘oil’. The conflicts betweenVenezuela and the United States were broken out at home and abroad thoroughly. Athome, Chavez’s political stance no longer merely objected to Neo-liberalism whichadvocated by the United States, but opposed capitalism, put forward the constructionof "21st century socialism"; Internationally, at the cornerstone of the oil diplomacy,the Chavez government promoted the integration of Latin America, weakened theAmerican influence in this region. But on the other hand, President Chavez adopted apragmatic foreign policy. The relations between Venezuela and the United States havemaintained close economic exchange.
