Research On People-oriented Thought Of Hu Jintao

The thought of people goes through the whole history of the development ofChinese civilization. For thousands of years, the traditional thought of the people asthe core content of China’s political thought plays an important role in maintaining thesafeguard of a country. However, the spirit of "people" and "love" which the feudalruling class holds is a surface phenomenon. In fact, its fundamental purpose is tomaintain their ruling. In essence, the traditional people-based thought is itsexploitation, domination and the means or tools to oppress the people, which haveobvious historical limitations.After the founding of the new China, as the core of the four generations of centralcollective leadership, Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, and Hu Jintaograsped the core essence of traditional thinking. They abandoned the feudal dross andabsorbed the essence of the people. Meanwhile they updated this theory on the basis ofthe stand, viewpoint and the method of Marx’s theory. In the end, which make therealization of the traditional thought of the people on the inheritance and developmentof the contemporary come true. The new historical period of the thought of peoplewent through the practice and development from the age of Mao Zedong and DengXiaoping to the age of Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao, four generation of collectiveleadership. From the development of this process it can be seen that the basic spirit ofthe "the thought of people” in this new period is the fundamental purpose of servingfor the people."Putting one’s heart and soul into serving the people" as a politicalconcept and behavior criterion of our party, like a red line running through the wholeprocess of Chinese revolution and construction. In different periods, because of thedifferent situations and tasks of the party, the connotation and requirements embodiedfrom "serve the people" are also different. Comrade Hu Jintao insisted on Marx’sscientific spirit and innovated and transcended the traditional thought on the basis ofinheriting Chinese traditional "people-oriented" ideas, which enriched the new people-oriented thought and brought the new characteristics of the times to “the thought of people”. Also it embodies the way that the party deal with the traditional "people-based" thought kept pace with times. At present, the new connotation of “the thoughtof people” refers to "the attention to people’s livelihood, the protection of civil rights,democratic development, people-oriented, the promotion of the all-round developmentof the people" which are considered as the core content of the thought of people.In addition to the introduction and the conclusion, the thesis includs three parts.The first part discusses the origin and the development of “the thought of people”which proposed by Hu Jintao. Hu Jintao’s theory is the inheritance and development ofthe traditional people-based thought and the viewpoints from the previous threegenerations of leaders. Its significance lies in the pursuit of human’s health, harmonyand the sustainable development, which can make people healthy and overalldevelopment realized. Hu Jintao’s new thought is essentially different from theChinese traditional people-based thought. Its essence is the organic combination of thepeople-based thought and people-oriented.The second part is the core part of this paper, which is a comprehensive analysisof the main content and innovation of Hu Jintao’s new thought. The convening of theeighteenth National People’s Congress conclude the Hu Jintao’s to theory moredetailed as the harmonious development among the politic, economy, culture, society,scientific and ecotope.The third part mainly discusses the theoretical and practical significance ofpeople-oriented thought. The core of Hu Jintao’s people-oriented thought breaksthough the traditional Confucian people-oriented thought and develops the people-oriented to the new historical height Especially in the construction of the harmonioussociety, the concept of five in one is put forward,which clarifies the real connotation ofit. Hu Jintao’s thought has the profound significance for the harmonious socialistsociety and the realization of the great renaissance of Chinese nation.
