The Social Culture Construction Of Yili Area In1949-1966Years

The People’s Republic of China established in October1,1949, marking thebeginning of a new era in the history of china. Across a thousand things wait to bedone, but also to full-scale reconstruction is under way. The northwest borderland ofXinjiang-Yili also devoted to the revolution, undergoing the turning and change ofpolitics, economy, cultural and other aspects.Yili is located in the northwest of China. But it is the gateway from China toCentral Asia and West Asia. Xinjiang and even the whole country in the years of1949-1966were in the stage of important transformation.This thesis focuses on howchanges Yili experienced in the process of transformation, as well as what role is it.Using the method of history, and investigation of Ethnology, with about thearchives historical document, written materials in Yili in1949-1966years, this thesisselects three aspects of social cultural construction of1949-1966years in Yili area:social and political environment, propaganda, education and researches them,showing Yining City, as the representative locations of Yili area, developed andchanged during this period of time.In order to show the development process of the social culture construction in1949-1966years in Yili area, this thesis selects a building--the Soviet consulate inYili, a newspaper-" Yili daily ", two schools--the Fourth Middle School of Yiningcity and the Fifth Middle School of Yining city as the research point, using theirdevelopments and changes in these17years to show appearance of social culturalconstruction in Yining City after liberation to before the cultural revolution, thendraws the conclusion: the construction of social culture in Yili area1949-1966yearscarried out under the unified control of the central government of the country, aseries of national policy in Yili ethnic characteristics of the development has beeneffectively implemented here, the17years of reform in Yili is a microcosm of thenationwide reform experience. But because of Yili’s unique historical andgeographical environment, it has its own characteristics in17years of history. Forseventeen years of1949-1966, Yili was in the historical period of conflictingbetween the socialist new institutional culture and local Russian culture that wasaccumulated because of historical reasons of Xinjiang and Soviet. Abandoning theinfluence of the Soviet political economy culture, building minority areas cultureunder new socialist system in China is the main characteristics of the social culturalconstruction in Yili region for17years.
