Preliminary Study Between Natural Disasters And Politics In Song Dynasty

Song Dynasty is a prosperous period in ancient Chinese history withrapid economic development and unprecedented population. However, frequentnatural disasters cause serious trauma to the society at that time. Based on the"Heaven Human Induction" such as disaster cursed-by-god theory in Song Dynasty,the emperor and officials are all feeling the pressure from disasters. And then, in orderto get god’s asylum and change disasters into auspicious, them implemented a seriesof measures to rid all disaster. This paper try discussing the Song government’sdiasters-eliminating measures and disasters’ impacts on prison system, official careerand the expostulation system.This article is divided into seven parts. Part exordium: review the presentsituation of relevant academic research, and point out the conclusive results andrelatively ignored parts; define the related concepts, research ideas and methods. Thefirst chapter is about the natural disasters and social crisis in the song dynasty.summarize the several major natural disasters’ impact on Song people’s life; secondly,discusses the Song people’s inheritance of the theory of disaster cursed-by-god andYin and Yang five lines from former generations, which underlie all kinds of thebehavior manner concept of eliminating disasters in Song Dynasty. The secondchapter mainly discusses the relationships between the disasters and the autocraticmonarchy of Song Dynasty rule, which mainly discusses the Song Dynasty’s imperialconcept of behavior after natural disasters. The third chapter talks the relationshipsbetween the disasters and officials in Song Dynasty, which mainly discusses the reliefofficials and program setting in Song Dynasty, and the impacts of disasters onofficials. The fourth chapter is about the relationships between the disasters and theSong Dynasty’s system of prison and expostulation, which mainly talks the influenceof disasters on the system of expostulation and justice. Conclusion part: summarize all the above, and analyze the potential significance reflected by the diasters-eliminatingmeasures in Song Dynasty.
